If you are driving down the coast in Northeast Florida on A1A, you might see an unexpected sight. A huge structure inspired by medieval Irish castles is a sharp contrast to the flat marsh lands and beach houses on hurricane stilts that surround it.
Castle Otttis is what its owner calls a “landscape sculpture” that he built to adorn the landscape. When you are on the grounds, it truly does feel like stepping into another time. We were influenced by this when visualizing the look for our shoot and wanted to create something that looked like it could be out of a fairy tale.
Our model, Conner Ann Waterman, wore a stunning pale grey blue corset-style ballgown by French Knot Couture. Makeup by Paulina Perez gave Conner a glamorous makeup look and a beautiful perfectly messy up-do. Liz Stewart created a stunning bouquet featuring a cooler color palette to complement the greys and blues of the castle and the gown.
The result was breathtaking. Conner looked like a princess, which could not have been more perfect for the castle that we were shooting in. Our goal was to create something timeless, whimsical, and romantic and I am very proud of the results.
