Yesterday was an amazing day. I got to be a part of a wedding expo that my friend, Tatum Pettery (Make My Day Planning) put together. She has been putting her heart and soul into this expo for months and I was so happy for her to see it come to life!
The expo was sponsored by LoweCo and Catherine Giudici Lowe (winner of the Bachelor season 17) launched her luxury stationary line at the show. VIP guests got a chance to meet Catherine and take pictures with her, and everyone got to listen to a Q&A with Tatum and Catherine. Some of the best vendors in town were there and it was really fun to see everybody all in one place.
Making my booth was a lot easier in my head then it was in real life (thanks Pinterest!) but it was worth it and I’m so happy with how it turned out. I knew that I wanted my booth to reflect my brand and style, so I just went with what I love.
I chose an elegant (but still minimalistic) presentation with a bright white foundation and pops of greenery. I’ve always loved keeping things simple and letting my subjects (in this case the photographs themselves) shine. I love using white as a foundation color. It is clean and classic and timeless- everything that I want my brand to represent.
I had proof prints on display from our recent editorial at The Museum and Gardens that will be published by Smitten Magazine in June. I strongly believe in printing your images and I feel like it is important to give brides something tangable to hold in their hands. I also love to show off the amazing quality of my print lab and to stress the importance of using professional printers!
I ordered some sweet treats from Amaretti Desserts, (who were also a part of the show) and they made such delicious macaroons and cookies.
My super talented friend, Destiny (Let Destiny Design) made a gorgeous hand lettered sign to hang on the wall.
Destiny’s booth was next to mine and it was so gorgeous! This girl can work magic with flowers (as well as calligraphy) and is so talented!
I can’t thank Destiny and her awesome mother enough for helping me with my booth! Also, my assistant, Sarah Cebulski, another booth neighbor, Heatherly Bloom Doan (check out her photo booth here!) Luke, Dylan, my mom… and everyone else that helped me, I can’t thank you enough! I get by with a little help from my friends!
Me, Destiny, and Heatherly after the show being silly in Heatherly’s Bloom Box-
Destiny and I had come up with the idea before hand to photograph brides to be with one of her bouquets. We wanted them “to feel like a bride” for just a moment and get them excited about all of the events to come. Here are a few of the beautiful brides (some with fiancees and friends) that stopped by to say hello. Fun fact: The first bride to be, Kiersten, is our newest bride and will be getting married at Chandler Oaks next year and we are so excited!
Catherine’s Q&A with Tatum was so fun! Catherine talked about life after the Bachelor, her own wedding, and gave some great wedding advice.
Catherine also chose the MMD Expo as the date and location to launch her new stationary line, LoweCo. It is inspired by the little notes that she would write to Sean during their time together on the show. When I saw what it looked like, I LOVED it… I mean it was white on white, just like my booth and overall branding! It was really cool to know that we share the same taste!
Tatum’s booth was next to Catherine’s and was beautiful as well. If you need a planner (which if you are planning a wedding, you do!) she is definitely an amazing one to consider!
Last but not least, my very own selfie with Mrs. Catherine Lowe herself! #NoFilter, but the bad lighting and my outdated iPhone made it look that way ha!
Thank you to all of the wonderful brides to be and their families that came to see us! I loved meeting you all and hearing about your plans for your big day! I’m already looking forward to next year’s Expo!
